End of Year Giving

Help Us Reach Our Sandbox Goal by 12/3

Dear Hasting Nursery School Families and Friends

As the season of gathering with our loved ones approaches, The Co-op is excited to launch our End-of-Year Fundraiser to raise much needed funds for a new sandbox on our playground–a safe, inviting space for all ages to explore and play. Our current sandbox has been loved into disrepair, and we need your support to provide the very best educational environment.

Our goal is to raise $1,500 to purchase and install a new sandbox, add benches for resting, and a sun shield for those sunny afternoons (particularly in the summer!) With your generous donation, we can continue to provide activities and equipment that stimulate social/emotional learning, sensory exploration and endless opportunities for imaginative play!

Please consider making your tax-deductible donation in any amount to help us reach our $1,500 goal by Giving Tuesday (December 3rd). And, if your employer offers a matching gift program, this is the perfect time to double your impact!

Thank you for helping us give the gift of safe, inspired play to our children. We can’t wait to celebrate the joys of a new sandbox together!

Exploring Creativity and Mindfulness in October with Lunch Bunch!

This October, our Lunch Bunch crew embraced the fall season with creativity and mindfulness. From brewing "spooky potions" and counting pumpkins to crafting Halloween candy collages, the children dove into festive fun while building new skills. We also introduced mindfulness practices, encouraging little ones to connect with their emotions through breathing exercises and thoughtful crafts like our "breathing sticks."

Celebrating a Successful Open House at Hastings Co-Op Nursery School!

Hi there,

This past weekend, Hastings Co-Op Nursery School opened its doors to the community, welcoming families, neighbors, and prospective students to experience a slice of life at our beloved nursery school. The annual Open House was a wonderful success, filled with laughter, learning, and the boundless energy of children exploring their potential future classrooms.

A Warm Welcome

Upon arrival, families were greeted by our dedicated staff, including our teachers from the 2s, 3s, 4s classes and volunteers who have made Hastings Co-Op Nursery School that showed prospective parents our dedication to community. Our staff was thrilled to meet new families, answer questions, and showcase our positive learning environment. Each classroom was thoughtfully organized with art stations, reading nooks, and hands-on activities that reflect the creativity, collaboration, and curiosity we value in our educational approach.

Exploring Learning Through Play

At Hastings Co-Op Nursery School, we believe that the most impactful learning happens through play. This philosophy was in full bloom during the Open House, where children were encouraged to go outside and play, have some snacks and explore their future classrooms. Watching children play on the school playground was a wonderful reminder of the jubilence that fills our classrooms every day at the Co-Op.

Community Connections

One of the best aspects of our Open House was seeing parents connecting with each other, sharing stories, and learning more about what makes our co-op community unique. For many, Hastings Co-Op Nursery School is more than just a place for their children to learn—it’s a place for families to grow together, forming lasting friendships and a support network. This sense of community and collaboration is core to our identity, and it was wonderful to see it in action.

Looking Ahead

We are grateful to everyone who came to our Open House and showed interest in becoming a part of our school. We’re excited for what’s in store for the upcoming year and can’t wait to welcome new faces into our classrooms. Whether you’re a returning family or considering Hastings Co-Op Nursery School for the first time, thank you for your support and enthusiasm.

We look forward to another incredible year filled with growth, learning, and community!
